PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is now recognized as the major cause of cervical cancer, a disease that kills more than 200,000 women around the world each year. HPV is very common and there are more than 100 subtypes, fewer than 20 of which are considered "high-risk" for the development of cancer.

The Dr. HPV IVD kit detects human papillomavirus and discriminates between the different subtypes, thus providing physicians with detailed information on the nature of the infection.  

HPV genotypes  6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 

        58, 59, 66, 70, 73, 82.

The HPV DNA test is a complementary diagnosis tool for physicians in addition to the smear test.

      The examined samples are cervix cells, collected by a wooden scraper 

      and/or a  small cervical brush.
